Corner Film Festival- VisionCon 2010

Hey everyone, it’s been a while since the last update and we’ve got some exciting news to report.

I am pleased to announce that the sc-fi/action film convention VisionCon 2010 has accepted The Disk: Hard Target and Code Zero into their local film showcase. Since 1990, Springfield, Missouri has been the host of Visioncon- an event that has celebrated the pop-culture genres of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and action genre. Other films featured in the festival include Pirate Picture’s Shadowland, Dark Road and The Sessions. The Disk marathon will start at 2:39 pm on Saturday January 23rd with Hard Target screening first, followed by the sequel Code Zero. Members of Corner Film Productions will be in attendance to answer questions and join in a panel discussion about independent filmmaking. You can visit the official VisionCon website here: http://www.visioncon.net/ to learn more about the festival and book tickets. There will be a special sneak preview for Casualties of the State before the screening and Disk DVDs, posters and CDs will be available for purchase throughout the weekend!

This is an exciting opportunity for Corner Film Productions and will represent the first time both Disk films will be available to be viewed back-to-back! If you’ve only seen one Disk movie, then you don’t know the whole story. If you are available from January 22-24, stop on by the convention and help support us and other local St. Louis filmmakers. I’m sure it’ll be a blast.

In other news, post-production is about to begin for ‘Casualties of the State’ along with pickup and second unit shoots throughout the coming weeks. Jeremy is currently still in London but will be returning next week to join Alex, Elly and Alan along with the rest of the CFP team to continue work on what is sure to be CFP’s best film yet!

That’s all for now. Until next time, keep things secure!

Princple shooting and errors in administration

Well, now that I found the correct site that I’m supposed to be using, let’s give this a try.

We’re done with principle photography! Jeremy is now in England; I’m at college, and I just so happen to be taking another English class that utilizes movies to teach us how to write papers better.

The last few weeks really boiled down to insanity as the all powerful dimmerbox needed to be returned and since I needed to get back to school, we were really down to the wire.

Since we are done with principle we have two previews to show: the teaser from July and the Preview from August… Enjoy!

The Final Push

Merry December!

It is almost time for the Advanced Screening! Just a few weeks left!

Tickets can be purchased at the Tivoli’s website for 10$. https://tickets.landmarktheatres.com/Landmark.aspx?TheatreID=258

Jeremy has been working extensively with Pat Cannell on the Soundtrack and it has been very promising so far.
Alex is still working on Visual Effects and is cleaning up everything though not at the same speed as the soundtrack.

In the Pipes

Hello Again,

It is now Fall 2008 and while Jeremy is working on Foley and ADR, and Alex is working on SFX, Alan has picked up the writing torch and is starting to compile his ideas for next year’s movie. Codenamed The Grand Inquisitor it looks like its going to be a wonderful thriller with many twists and turns in store for the audience. The Cast for the next upcoming movie looks to be undecided as of yet, but I’m sure that it will be decided once everything has been written.

In further new Jeremy has decided that next year we are going to be shooting HD, because in general the overall image is better than most “pro-sumer” level SD camera’s.

The rush, the thrill, the stark reality

Summer is now over and everyone is heading off to school, but work on Code Zero is not quite done.

First, ADR, you need to do it its not a choice

Second, color grading, Tom, Jeremy and Corey are all going to be having fun with that.

Third, Visual Effects, Alex will be putting the bang in gun shot over the next couple of months…

That is all.

End of the Summer

It has been a long time since the last update for everyone, but principal photography was finished exactly two weeks ago.  Jeremy has been busy in Wisconsin editing during his vacation, meanwhile Alex has been busy trying to dust-bust several key scenes that are atrocious. Jeremy intends on getting home on either the 12th or 13th and shot pick-ups that were missed and start ADR recording.

Jeremy and Alex have started discussing next years preparations including entering the St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase and next year’s production.

The wrap party is going to be next Saturday– planned picnic followed by the release of a cast exclusive preview/trailer.

Equipment

Last Sunday (a week ago today) C(F)P received a wonderful donation from awesome donor (we must keep unnamed until permission is granted, I doubt it will) of two of the most beautiful 16mm film camera I have laid eyes on. Two Bolex 16mm camera circa 1974 and 76. Both are in working condition though the electric is a tad on the testy side. During this past weekend Tom, our DP, was playing with the 400ft of film that came with it (we doubt its good, but who knows.) Hopefully Corner Productions will be able to at least use some of this incredible medium to shoot, and who knows, maybe we’ll be able to team up with slightly larger production groups.

WOW!!!

These past 3 weeks have been solid shooting.

This weekend we had the opportunity to film at the William’s farm for an action extravaganza.
Our deepest gratitude to the family.

We also hosted TRICKset a parkour and free-running group who put on an exhibition of choreography, stunts and tricking. They were awesome.

This coming Weekend we have the break out and parts of the break in. Maura, our make-up and costume designer will actually be busy Saturday so we will have some fun getting everyone prepped before we film.
